''A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.'' - Thomas Carlyle I agree with this quote. Goals are what drives determination and ambition. Without these effort desires accomplishment would not be a treasured result. Goals steer one in the direction of success. Without a goal there is no purpose. Everyone has a goal. Goals improve ones self. Direction only comes from a certain want. Talents are sharpened by these accomplishments. Goals are essential to life. 

''When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive''. - Alan Paton I agree with this quote. Although it is never easy to forgive, it is the right thing to do. Pain can be temporary, if what needs to be accepted becomes accepted. You can not have closure if a grudge is still in place. It is important to learn how to let go of the past. Holding grudges is never the right way to go. For example, if someone wronged you, you cannot let that affect you. Living and forgetting might be one way of going about. Forgiving is moving on. Recovering can only be done by accepting, forgiving, and forgetting.

''Dare to stand alone. Stand up for what is right, even if you stand alone.'' - Thomos S. Monson I agree with this quote. Never let fear stop you from doing what you believe in. Standing out should not be something to have to worry about. Sometimes it is the true courage of standing alone that makes a difference. The ability to stand alone in a crowd of common thought is truley something powerful. For example, there have been many cases throughout hiistory that involve someone rebelling agaisnt the  common belief. While it is never the easiest thing to do, it was the right thing. People are afraid themselves, so by doing so you may inspire others. Do not be afraid to believe in what you know to be right. All it takes is courage. 

''I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.'' - Sophocles I agree with this quote. While loosing is not the best feeling, I would not be able to handle the guilt. I would not be able to cheat. I do not know how people who have cheated manage to deal with it. My conscience would never allow me to do so. If there is honor in loosing I would much rather accept it. For example, you are not only cheating yourself, but those around you. If you are a famous competator, you let your fans down. Cheating is not being honest. It is better to accept loss than make a fool of your name by cheating. 

''If I've got correct goals, and if I keep pursuing them in the best way I know how, everything else falls into line. If I do the right thing right, I'm going to suceed.'' - Dan Dierdorf I agree with this quote. If you choose to do something right and put your effort into it, them you are bound to suceed. Putting in maximum effort into something can impact ones chances in suceeding. Everything does actually come together. When effort and a proper choice go hand in hand, there is no other way. Certified success can only come from a good choice. If the opposite were to be said, results would not be as promising. When your heart is in the right place and your choices reflect on it, then the option was a clear one made. If you choose right, you gain right. Pursue greatness by being great and truth will go your way. 

''The most important thing you will ever have is good values.'' - Dennis Prager I agree with what this quote is saying only partially. I do not know if good values are the top thing to live by. Of course they matter when it comes to being a good person. Although I believe there are other things to value in life as well. I would not rank things in number, simply by mental check. People will value whatever they believe is best for them. Only in an alternate world would everyone value things on an equal level. In reality everyone will never be equal in thought. For example, some people may value their loved ones or career as the most important thing in their life. Once agiain, these are simply beliefs, and unfortunatley not everyone will view their life the same. 

''The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon: self-respect, dignity, (self-worth), integrity, and self-esteem.'' - Dr. Laura Shlessinger This quote is true. Usually when doing something that is right you never really get a physical reward. The satisfaction is internal since you yourself commited the act. At times there might not be any witnesses. Physical recognition comes for other reasons. When you acknowledge those factors, right truly will feel like a phenomenon. The feeling you get when doing right is like no other. That is the only feeling apart from all others. That sense of well being will not be caused by any thing else. Reward over moral is a great prize. 

''Being a c-t-r person isn't always easy, but it's the best person you can be.'' - Diana Beltran I agree with this quote. It is never easy doing what is right by lifestyle. Doing what is right is never the easy option. Most people never choose what is right because they prefer the easier option. The moral work is worth it, once you achieve being a good person, you achieve the best form of yourself. The best version will be someone who is hard working and uncorrupted. Avoiding wrong decisions will lead you down the best path of life. The path of rightous choice making is the way to go. When you are a wholesome person dedicated to good will, then life for you will be nothing but the best. A life of well living is a life well spent. 

''In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing.'' - Theodore Roosevelt This statement is true. Although is doesn't provide any guidance as to what the ''right'' thing is. How can anyone follow this advice if they if it offers no clarification. Not everyone knows what to do when it comes to making the right choice. Is there ever a true ''proper'' choice or does everything have its own good and bad side. When the moment comes people typically do not have time to think of what choice to make. Many act upon the first thing that pops into mind. This can only help those who already are in touch with their conscience and have awareness of themselves. This saying will apply to a certain sort. This is however, simply my own personal opinion. 

''Nothing is ever gained in doing what's wrong.'' - Wilford Woodruff I agree with this quote. Although I also still believe that something is learned. When you do something wrong you learn what is better. So in fact, you do learn something when you choose what is wrong. Although it is important to always refrain from doing the wrong thing. We must always and only choose and act on what is right. You gain nothing in doing wrong but a sense of consciousness. Chossing wrong should never be a legitimate option for anybody. By doing what is right, you gain multiple beneficial aspects. Doing what is right is something that should come naturally. 

''I have been asked what I mean by 'word of honor'. I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls- walls of stone ever so high, every so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground- there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I'd die first.'' - Karl G. Maeser I think this quote is very noble. It speaks of good character. The quality it takes is of the ultimate trust and loyalty. Yet, I can't help but disagree at its exaggeration. Trust and loyalty can only go so far and do so much. While it is true, having those qualities and being true to your word is incredible, it can not be the only action. For example, to die out of a promise seems extreme. There are many ways to fufill a promise and be a trustworthy person. Dying should not be considered. Staying true is one thin...

I agree on the fact that you have to care for the earth. It is important to maintain our environment in order to keep on living. It is also nice on the fact that it is valued to respect everything. Offering assistance is a very nice thing to do for others. It seems that the native Americans truly lived in peace. They were one with the earth and cared for it. ''Goodness is the only investment that never fails.'' - Henry David Thoreau This statement is true. You can never go wrong by doing something right. By helping someone you encourage hope. For example, there is no harm in lending a hand every now and then. You cannot go wrong by being selfless. It is better than anything to think of others before you think of yourself. Always help out anyone whenever you can. You may inspire a chain of acts of kindness. By investing good in humanity, you gain the whole world. Goodness will never do you wrong. 

''I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.'' - Abraham Lincoln I agree with this statement. It is a very noble thing to say. It is always a right thing to stand by those who are standing for what is right. When the time comes to no longer stand with the dishonest man then so be it. It is never good to support those whose intentions are in the wrong place. Even if leaving someones side is the unpopular opinion, the action must be taken. For example, standing with those who support cruel acts are examples of wrong intentions. Winning is not always the most important thing. Being true is a very powerful capability, never wrong it. Being true is a very honorous thing. 

''Character is higher than intellect.'' - Ralph Waldo Emerson I am not sure if I fully agree nor disagree. Of course intellect is highly essential, so are morals. I believe in different situatons that the two are of equal importance. If not, then it is simply a matter of opinion. It is up to you to decide which trait is of most importance. In the end it might vary on the person. Although as I stated before, both are very much needed within everyone. For example, you may hold a high intellectual count, but may now know what is right or wrong. Or on the contrary, you may be high in morals but may not be an intellectual. It is important to hold an even balance of the two. 

''I trust that my hard work will pay off.'' - Tyler Haws I agree with this quote. It is not very detailed and descriptive but it still serves as motivation and inspiration to those who need guidance in their lives. It can offer support to people who are having a hard time achieving their goals. For example, if someone feels as if they can't pursue their goal, they might want to give up. Since this quote is around, the person may become inspired by Mr. Haws's words. You never know where your efforts may leave you but it is always important to never give up. Never stop pursuing your goal until you make it possible. Never stop wanting to better yourself. Always push your limits to achieve what you want. Do not let your aspirations go to waste. 

''True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what's right.'' - Brigham Young I neither agree nor disagree. There are many ways to describe what ''doing what is right'' may be. Not all opinions may be reasonable. Everyone may believe what they wish to believe on what they think is the right thing to do. Since it is all opinion based, it is not valid to determination and finalization. To be independent and free can be achieved in many forms. I am not saying making absurd actions is tolerable, I am simply saying the ''right answer'' varies. There will never truly be a right answer since it will almost always be opinion based. Everyone is free to interpret and believe in what they think is right in order to achieve freedom and independence. That is the point of freedom, it is at everyone's own will and expense. There will never be true freedom and individual independence if everyone never ventures freely to have their ...

''They're only truly great who are truly good.'' - George Chapman You can define greatness if you first act out of good. In order to be good you must put others before you. The real greatness is not strength or reputation, it is the good acts committed. You can not be great if you are living with a soul purpose to wreck havoc and spread a negative mood.  For example, you cannot be great by bullying someone. Bullying is not a positive act. It is not a tolerable act in the eyes of good will. Greatness comes to those who are selfless and whom to not have a rotten heart. You cannot be greedy and selfish and attain greatness all at once. Where there is anything but pureness and good, there will never be an ounce of great. 

''Many think that the short term gain will be worth the long term pain, but it isn't. In addition, using steroids is cheating, and there is nothing worse in sports than a cheater. Don't do it.'' - George Mitchell I agree with this statement. Cheating is not a form of validation. Cheating can only satisfy ones desire for success temporarily. In order to truly achieve on your own it will take determination and honesty. If records will be set by using drug enhancements, then what is the point of sports? Sports should be played ethnically. For example, the man who broke babe ruths record of most home runs in a season is not a true sports man. A true athlete does not achieve by cheating. To achieve, they did it by working hard and practicing. When you cheat you are left with a burden that will consume you more than the winning glory.
