STUDENT SUCCESS STATEMENT

''I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.'' - Abraham Lincoln

I agree with this statement. It is a very noble thing to say. It is always a right thing to stand by those who are standing for what is right. When the time comes to no longer stand with the dishonest man then so be it. It is never good to support those whose intentions are in the wrong place. Even if leaving someones side is the unpopular opinion, the action must be taken. For example, standing with those who support cruel acts are examples of wrong intentions. Winning is not always the most important thing. Being true is a very powerful capability, never wrong it. Being true is a very honorous thing.

Usually when doing something that is right you never really get a physical reward. The satisfaction is internal since you yourself commited the act. At times there might not be any witnesses. It depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change it.'' - Dr. Ben Carson I do not really agree with this statement. While it mat be true that poverty can eventually be overcome, many out there do work hard and give it their all at what they do yet they still do not escape. There are two ways to work hard at something. Sometimes you get what you want, other times things remain the same. This quote can not always be held true. There is a key element that breaks this from being true, education. You can work hard all you want but not go far because of lack of an education. Without education your efforts will mean nothing. Education can be in many forms. Education is the real key to success, without it efforts will not do much good. At times poverty is not a choice, lack of education will forever hold a family down.
