SCHOOL BREAK DAYS

For the three weeks that we were off from school, I did quite an array of things. Even is I remained at home the entire time. The first week was not filled with many pass time activities. Since my parents were working, I was sent to my grandmothers house with my sister. I remained there the entire week. I did not do much at her home besides watch some movies, watch my sister, read some chapters on The Green Mile by Stephen King. I spent a majority of my first week binge watching shows such as Greys Anatomy, Criminal Minds, etc. All the while I counted down the days left until Christmas Day was to struck. My second week was a bit more hands on. After Christmas I spent many days building a 3D model of the astronomy tower at Hogwarts ( Harry Potter). I had received this as a Christmas gift from my mother and had spent approximately three days building it. Through patience I managed to succeed in assembling it, however I must admit I had become frustrated a great many times. During that second week I also spent time filling in and coloring some patterns on a type of stress relief book. To add a few details of my second week off, I must add I also spent my time using my 5 in one entertainment set I received as another gift. It is an old fashioned styled radio, cassete and cd player, along with a vinyl playing feature, and Bluetooth management. My final week was spent reading up on some novels I had yet to finish. I had also begun to reread the Harry Potter series for the third time. Amongst the three weeks mentioned, I must share two days in particular. One of those days being the day I was taken to the movie theatres to see the movie Star Wars the Last Jedi by my father. I had waited so long to see the film, the wait was greatly worth my while. Another individual highlight was the day I spent with my mother. It was the past Saturday where we woke up early to go to the Barns and Noble bookstore in Long Beach.   I had received a $50 gift card from my godmother and decided to use it well. I bought a total of 4 books, ranging from America's history to bibliography's based of Holocaust victims, and two packets of bookmarks. Although my winter break was not all that exciting, I must admit I was relaxed and did thoroughly enjoy many moments of it.

Student Success Statement

''The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon: self-respect, dignity, (self-worth), integrity, and self-esteem.'' - Dr. Laura Shlessinger This quote is true. Usually when doing something that is right you never really get a physical reward. The satisfaction is internal since you yourself commited the act. At times there might not be any witnesses. Physical recognition comes for other reasons. When you acknowledge those factors, right truly will feel like a phenomenon. The feeling you get when doing right is like no other. That is the only feeling apart from all others. That sense of well being will not be caused by any thing else. Reward over moral is a great prize.

''I have been asked what I mean by 'word of honor'. I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls- walls of stone ever so high, every so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground- there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I'd die first.'' - Karl G. Maeser I think this quote is very noble. It speaks of good character. The quality it takes is of the ultimate trust and loyalty. Yet, I can't help but disagree at its exaggeration. Trust and loyalty can only go so far and do so much. While it is true, having those qualities and being true to your word is incredible, it can not be the only action. For example, to die out of a promise seems extreme. There are many ways to fufill a promise and be a trustworthy person. Dying should not be considered. Staying true is one thin...
